The Farm Story
Kelloo Lalesa #2 is a community lot from smallholders surrounding Alemayehu Tilahun Washing Station in Lalesa, Gedeb, Gedeo. Coffee grows at about 2,150 metres in a dense semi-forest system under native shade and enset (false banana), creating a cool environment for slow cherry maturation. Alemayehu, a Gedeo native with more than two decades in specialty coffee, built long-term relationships with nearby farmers so the station could buy ripe cherry from the Lalesa community. Cherries are hand-picked and hand-sorted, pulped, fermented under water for 72 hours, soaked in clean water and dried on raised beds for 8-20 days. The result is a clean, layered washed coffee with stone-fruit sweetness, fresh herbal lift and warm spice.
